Investment rationale and value creation
This was an attractive sector for GCP and the business had distinct growth prospects. There was an opportunity to buy a sound business at an attractive price from an industrial partner. We recognised there was a market opportunity not being served by the current competitors and this business was an attractive target with believable exit prospects.
We introduced an experienced chairman and worked closely with the management team to improve operating performance with increased utilisation. The buyer, LGC was sourced through our network and we led the exit process to a successful conclusion.
