Growth Capital Partners (GCP), the provider of blended equity and debt to the UK’s small to medium sized businesses, has announced the appointment of Jim Sellars as an investment manager. Jim spent eight weeks as an MBA intern with GCP in the summer of 2015 during which time he worked in a supporting role on a number of investment projects.

James Blake, Managing Partner of GCP commented:

“We are delighted to welcome Jim to the GCP team. He brings a broad range of skills, experience and expertise and will be a real asset to us as we start to deploy our fourth Fund. We got to know each other well during the summer when Jim joined as an MBA intern and it’s great to see him come back on a permanent basis.”

Jim commented:

“I am delighted to be joining GCP at such an exciting time for the business. Having spent the summer with the team as part of my MBA program at INSEAD, I know first-hand both GCP’s strength in the lower mid-market and what a fantastic team I am joining. I really look forward to being part of the investment team as GCP starts to deploy Fund IV.”

Jim had previously spent three years at Fidelity Investments as a fixed income analyst as part of a team investing across debt capital structure for funds based in the UK and the US. Prior to that he spent four years within KPMG’s transactions and restructuring team performing complex restructuring projects in the UK and Europe.

Jim has an MBA from INSEAD with distinction and a BA in History and French from Durham University. Jim is also a qualified accountant (ACA) and a CFA charter holder.
