Growth Capital Partners promotes Kirsty McDonald to partner
Growth Capital Partners (GCP), the provider of blended equity and debt to the UK’s small to medium sized businesses, is pleased to announce that Kirsty McDonald has been promoted to Partner.
Kirsty led the recent Fund III investment in Scopus, an international oil & gas services firm, and sits on its Board. In addition to leading GCP’s investment activity in the oil & gas sector, she is responsible for the firm’s deal origination approach and plays a central role in fundraising.
Kirsty joined GCP in February 2012 from 3i, where she spent 5 years investing in fast-growing, private businesses. Prior to 3i, she was part of the Group Development team at Trinity Mirror plc, focused on corporate acquisitions, and previously was one of the founders of a strategy consultancy, providing support to companies ranging from start-up to FTSE100.
Bill Crossan, Senior Partner, commented:
“We are delighted to announce Kirsty’s promotion. We have an excellent team and the breadth and depth of Kirsty’s experience means she is ideally placed to continue contributing to that”.
“With our flexible funding and straightforward approach, GCP continues to stand out from crowd. This, combined with our investment track record, funding firepower and a great team gives us a very strong platform for further future success. I’m extremely excited to be part of that.”
This announcement follows an excellent 18 months for GCP; it has expanded its team, completed five new investments, supported two portfolio companies to make acquisitions and through the sale of Amor to Lockheed Martin, delivered another outstanding return to its investors.
