With GCP’s support we have made significant progress with our growth strategy over the past few years. We have completed six acquisitions since inception and three with GCP, which has seen us bring in additional expertise, while also enhancing our geographical footprint in the key US market.

Background

We became investment partners wish Fishawack Communications in March 2013 to support the founders’ ambitious international buy and build growth plan. They are a specialist medical communications agency providing a range of outsourced professional services to assist large global pharmaceutical companies in educating the medical sector on pharmaceutical products. The business was founded in 2001 by CEO, Oliver Dennis and CFO, Dominic Miller.

During the period of our investment the revenues and EBITDA doubled as the group became a full-service medical communications agency working on global accounts for large pharmaceutical clients such as GSK, Sanofi and Novartis across UK, Switzerland and USA.

In January 2017 we completed the successful sale of Fishawack to a financial buyer.

Driving Growth

  • Our funding and hands on M&A support enabled the execution of three strategic bolt-on acquisitions: Archimed, JK Associates Inc and Facilitate Limited

People & Organisation

  • Significant organisational structure changes and board level recruitment: Chairman, CFO, Head of USA, was undertaken to support the increased scale of the group

Systems & Processes

  • Finance function evolution and improved KPI’s for reporting and decision making

Funding for growth

  • We funded the entire investment , providing the debt and equity on the deal and committed funding for acquisitions
  • We led a senior debt refinancing process to provide further firepower for acquisitions
