GCP evolves its leadership team as it continues to build on its highly successful track record of partnership focused deals across the Knowledge Economy

Growth Capital Partners (“GCP”) today announces a series of changes to its leadership,
reflecting the evolution of a team that has successfully grown together over more than two
decades. Garrett Curran and James Blake, founding partners of GCP, take the roles of
Chairman and Senior Partner respectively. Both will remain actively involved with GCP in
their new roles, drawing on decades of experience backing ambitious, growth-focused
businesses across the UK.

Day-to-day leadership of GCP will be assumed by Richard Shaw and Alex Thomson, both of
whom have been with GCP for 15 years. Richard will now be Managing Partner, and Alex will
be Head of the Investment Team.

GCP’s partnership-led approach was established in 1999, when the business launched as
Close Brothers Growth Capital, laying the foundations, during Funds I and II, of the valuable
and supportive investment partnership model that remains a core element of GCP today.
In 2009, the founding partners led a buy out from Close Brothers, to form Growth Capital
Partners (GCP), the independent firm it is today. Garrett and James have built the team and
overseen the significant growth of GCP, successfully raising and investing four funds from
£160m GCP Fund III to the standout fund raise of GCP Fund VI, at £411m in 2025.

Over this period, GCP’s investment approach has also evolved, with sector focus being a
core theme as the firm’s Knowledge Economy specialist focus, strategic value creation
approach and highly successful track record across technology and specialist services
businesses has developed. Richard and Alex have played key leadership roles across these
sector lines and led many of the firms’ recent successful investments including Bridewell,
Hippo Digital, Infinity Works, Cubelogic and DMW for example.

Looking ahead, Richard and Alex will lead GCP’s exciting next chapter, as the business
continues to invest in and develop an exceptional team and build on the strong platform
created to date. Currently investing from £411 million GCP Fund VI, the continued focus will
be on, backing high-margin, intellectual capital-led businesses in technology and specialist
services and supporting them to realise their growth ambitions from a strong UK base, while
also selectively expanding the investment footprint into Europe.

As the technology and specialist services sectors continue to evolve, innovate and benefit
from long term macro growth trends, Richard, Alex and the wider GCP team are committed
to ensuring GCP remains the investment partner of choice for the management teams
shaping the Knowledge Economy.

Garrett Curran, Chairman, commented: “GCP is built on the strength of the people within
it, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved together over more than two decades,
becoming the independent, Knowledge Economy specialist we are today. Richard and Alex
have been instrumental in that journey, and I have complete trust and confidence in their
ability to lead GCP going forward. They bring the judgement, drive and partnership ethos
that has always defined this firm, and together with James, I look forward to working
alongside them as we continue to support the GCP team, our investors and the
management teams we partner with.”

Richard Shaw, Managing Partner said: “It’s a real privilege to take on this role, and I’m
grateful to Garrett and James for all their guidance and support over the years and the
trust they’ve placed in me and Alex. I would like to thank our brilliant team for their great
work and dedication, all the management teams we have worked with and our highly valued
investors and industry networks for their continued support. GCP’s partnership-led
approach has always been about backing ambitious, entrepreneurial people and growing
outstanding businesses together that create significant shareholder value, and we’re
delighted to be leading GCP into our next exciting growth phase to continue this.”
