  • A leading provider of specialist non-residential, city centre venues used for training, conferences, events and meetings
  • Highly flexible venue solutions are used by a wide range of blue chip clients and the company has built a reputation as a brand synonymous with excellent customer service and hospitality standards

Why we invested

  • etc.venues is a strong brand and the market leader in the London non-residential venues market
  • Opportunity to support a high calibre industry experienced management team in the next phase of venue roll out
  • Ability to capitalise on maturing venues and enhance growth through development of the venue proposition to incorporate both larger scale conference sites and smaller dynamic training focused venues

How we are making a difference

  • Provided a flexible funding structure to enable management to undertake a secondary MBO and embark on the next stage of venue roll out
  • Supporting strategic agenda of developing the brand and venue proposition and expansion of London venue portfolio
  • Assisting with assessment of potential regional and international expansion opportunities
  • Delivered an exit in June 2018 to enable etc. venues to expand into the United States and beyond in a new partnership with US investors Gencom and Colony NorthStar, investing alongside Benchmark, a global hospitality company. The transaction generated a 4.8x money multiple for GCP.

GCP have been an excellent UK investor for us and helped us treble the size of the business in five years. Their partnership investment model and support for our strategy, together with a distinctive funding structure that has facilitated significant investment for growth, have enabled our ambitious plans to be achieved.
