Summer 2023 – Portfolio Snapshot 

The summer of 2023 has so far seen continued macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainty, and we and all the management teams we have partnered with are working hard to navigate the more challenging market environment.

In GCP’s core sectors of Technology and High Value Services, we are however seeing positive momentum and reasons to be optimistic with continued talent development, job creation, ESG activities and support for wider business and industry sector initiatives across our portfolio. The outstanding companies we partner with continue to demonstrate their resilience, agility, and strategic growth focus to enable them to successfully adapt to market conditions and we are privileged to work with them and proud to continue to provide a range of strategic support to assist in delivering positive value and growth.

With the acquisition of The Data Shed earlier this year, Hippo Digital expanded its market offering and its data engineering capabilities to continue to deliver highly strategic end to end digital transformation. The coming together of the businesses, was also an excellent testament to the strength of the Yorkshire Tech ecosystem.

Working closely with central government and the NHS, the post-pandemic era has continued to be positive for Hippo, who remain focused on further expansion across the UK. From its hubs in Leeds, Manchester, London and Birmingham, Hippo Digital is hiring across the business.

In May, First Mile became the first GCP portfolio company to be B Corp certified, a well-deserved recognition of the positive social and environmental impact that is at the core of the business. In doing this, First Mile became one of the first in its field to gain the certification. The team has recently been speaking to B Corp’s co-founder on the power of business as a force for good.

As a notable example of GCP’s commitment to building sustainable businesses for the long-term according to our Sustainable Investment Framework, we are immensely proud to provide our ongoing support as they continue to successfully deliver their growth plans.

First Mile is hiring across its office and field-based roles.

AIS has so far had a summer to remember, picking up awards at both the 2023 Made in the UK Awards and the King’s Awards.

Receiving the Export Award at the Made in the UK Awards, it highlighted AIS’ focus on delivering UK products to overseas markets including China and Brazil. Similarly, the King’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade focused-on AIS’ expertise in expanding to new markets and developing networks across geographies for UK business.

Continuing their growth following the acquisition of Northwest based CRP Subsea, the team is hiring across their Europe, Asia, and North America sites.

Cyber security continues in its position as a major strategic topic in 2023, and Bridewell have continued to rise to the challenge with their specialist cyber consulting and managed security services for critical national infrastructure organisations in the UK, Europe, and the US.

The team have continued to build on their commitment to the cyber industry attending numerous events and supporting a range of positive initiatives, with Emma Leith, Director of Consulting, Cyber Security, speaking on Women in Cyber Security, travelling to Barcelona for the 7th CISO 360 Congress, and even being joined by GCP’s Ravi Monteiro at Infosecurity Europe.

Bridewell is hiring across various levels of the business as they continue to expand their highly talented team.

Robiquity was recently recognised for its stellar work in automation at the SS&C Blue Prism Partner Excellence Awards, winning the Client Business Impact: FSI award for the EMEA region. This was for the business’ work with later-life specialist lender More2Life.

The Robiquity team are at the forefront of evolving trends in Intelligent Automation and Artificial Intelligence as the business applications for these technology solutions continue to evolve at a rapid pace.

Robiquity are hiring developers, consultants, and support staff across Europe and the Middle East.

The Plenitude leadership team expanded in May 2023 with the addition of industry veteran Mark Humphries, as Chairman, capping off a positive start of the year for the business. Global trends have accelerated the need for specialist compliance consulting services and RegTech products in the financial crime, risk, & compliance sector, and with Plenitude’s expanding footprint and new client wins across Asia and Europe they are seeing significant growth opportunities ahead.

101 Ways, our latest partnership investment, joined our portfolio of outstanding growth companies at the start of 2023. The team is having continued success in the digital transformation market, flying the flag at London Tech Week, penning innovative insights, and even playing shuffle board in the sun.
